Each quarter, we will share three things that we are keeping Top of Mind
Here’s our latest list:
1.) Is your financial advisor independent?
Your wealth journey is exceptionally important. How confident are you that your advisor is working in your best interest? Windermere is an independent Registered Investment Advisor and acts as a fiduciary in its client’s best interests. But not all advisory firms are created equal. Take this quiz to test your knowledge of what independence in the financial advisory space truly means
2.) There is value in rest
“There’s something to be said for the state of quiet dormancy, where little apparently happens.”
This quote, from an article in the New York Times, brings up a fact that we all know is true – there are benefits to rest. And yet, we spend a large part of our lives fighting against this reality. We tend to believe that there is value in the hustle, a certain status in being “busy”, and that taking time to rest and not “do” is somehow weak. This article made me start to see things a little bit differently. I hope it does the same for you as summer is the perfect time to reset and recharge.
3.) Remembering death to help you live
I listened to a podcast recently where the founder of We Croak was the guest.
He has created an app (also called We Croak) that sends you five messages a day (at random intervals) to help you stop and contemplate death. It’s based on the Bhutanese folk saying: to be a happy person, one must contemplate death five times daily. The app helps bring you back to yourself and helps you focus on what really matters, oftentimes alleviating the stresses and worries of day to day life. I just downloaded it – maybe you will do the same!
